Greetings PHS family, today in PE we continued game play for the Team Sports Unit of Volleyball. We started our day with our dynamic and static stretching routine focusing on stretching our hip flexor muscles. Next, we performed close grip pushups and planks for our muscular endurance and abdominal strength exercises. Today, students warmup with their assigned teams and continued game play. Students, please remember that your Volleyball test is this Friday.  We ended our day with static stretches. Let's have another great day tomorrow.

Upon completion of the test, students wrote their reflection essays in their journal regarding their three goals at the beggining of the unit. Lastly, we played our last game of softball/whiffleball. When we return from spring break, we will begin the team sports unit of Flag Football. Have a great Spring Break.

Greetings PHS family, today in PE we finished our Fitness Gram post testing. Students ran the Pacer test (cardiovascular endurance) and also played a game of kickball. On Monday, we will begin our Softball/Whiffleball unit. Students please be sure to bring shoes and clothing that you do not mind getting dirty. The Softball/Whiffleball unit will be conducted on the baseball or softball field on the PHS campus. Have a great weekend!

Before we began our elimination tournament, students played two games of knockout working on the B.E.E.F. concept for shooting. Next, we reviewed passing, focusing on the proper technique. Then, I gave a brief demonstration of the B.E.E.F. concept of shooting. Next, we practiced layups and played the knockout activity. Next, we reviewed dribbling, focusing on the proper technique of using your fingertips while dribbling. Then we practiced passing and receiving using the chest, bounce, baseball, and overhead passes. Last, we played 3 on 3 games without dribbling focusing on proper spatial awareness and movement without the ball. We ended our day with static stretches. Tomorrow we will introduce shooting. Students took their Basketball pretest and then took notes in order to prepare them for the unit. Lastly, students wrote their three goals for the unit and explained why and how they were going to accomplish their goals. We will begin practicing skills tomorrow. Let's have another great day.

During the Team Handball work session we practiced making chest, bounce, baseball, and overhead passess. We also played some 3 on 3 without dribbling to make students aware of spatial awareness and moving without the ball. We ended our day with static stretches. Let's have another great day tomorrow.

Greetings PHS family, today in PE we continued our Fitness Gram pre test by measuring our cardiovascular endurance with the Pacer test. We began our day with introducing our 5 lap warmup and our dynamic and static stretching routines. Next, we performed the Pacer test, students recorded their pre test scores on their Fitness Gram tracker sheet. On Monday we will finish the Fitness Gram pre test, as well as take our Common Assessment Pre Test. Have a great Weekend.
